3D Booth: See Your Booth Before It's Built

Oct. 16, 2026 | The Art of the Booth, Booths

It takes just a few days to set up an exhibit booth. Yet the decision is made long before that, on a screen. The 3D booth is that moment when your space already exists—with its dimensions, colors, and lighting—even though not a single piece has left the workshop yet.

At ENJOY, 3D isn't just a pretty picture to sell a product. It's a tool we use to track your project all the way to the delivery truck. Here's how we use it—and, most importantly, what it means for you.

What exactly is a 3D booth?

A 3D booth is a digital model of your future booth. Your floor space, the height allowed by the trade show, the partitions, the furniture, the graphics, and the lighting—everything is placed to scale. You can then walk around it, step inside, and see what visitors will see from the aisle.

Next come the realistic renderings, both photos and videos. These, in particular, allow you to assess the atmosphere, present the project to your management, and make a decision without having to guess. This is also where the layout of your booth comes into play: the zones, the flow of traffic, and the placement of each piece of furniture.

Why Use a 3D Printer Before Manufacturing?

Because a floor plan doesn’t tell the whole story. A partition that’s too tall, a counter right up against the aisle, a display hidden behind a screen: in 2D, these things go unnoticed. In 3D, on the other hand, they’re immediately obvious.

Above all, you can correct a drawing with just a few clicks. Correcting a part that’s already been manufactured, on the other hand, costs materials, time, and money. That’s why 3D modeling is where a mistake costs the least. So it’s best to keep it there. One click. Not a dumpster load.

Ultimately, it helps everyone make decisions together. Marketing, management, and the salespeople who will be manning the booth: everyone sees the same information and offers their opinion based on concrete facts, rather than on intuition.

From the brief to the final design: how we design your 3D booth

At ENJOY, the 3D booth is designed in-house by the engineering department, just like everything else. The process consists of six steps:

  • Review the materials: your brief, the hall layout, and the exhibitor guide, including its height and setback requirements.
  • 3D design of the booth, created in SketchUp.
  • Feasibility study conducted with our R&D team whenever technology or multimedia is involved.
  • Cost estimation based on the drawing itself, item by item.
  • Realistic renderings and presentation materials.
  • We'll work with you to make adjustments until we get the project just right.

The fourth point is more important than it seems. The estimate is generated directly from the 3D model. So what you see on the screen is exactly what’s included in the estimate. In other words, there’s no discrepancy between the beautiful image and the bill.

What 3D Takes Care of Before It Hits the Market

Once approved, the 3D model continues to be used. First, it is used to generate the floor plans sent to the organizer for safety approval. Next, it is used to calculate the suspended loads and the stand’s electricity consumption—two factors that trade shows monitor closely.

The printing company then incorporates your visuals into the layout before the final approval. This allows you to approve each file in context, rather than on a blank sheet of paper. Finally, the same 3D model helps with preparing the truck loads. Nothing is left to chance on the big day.

One thing to keep in mind: once the booth has been approved by the trade show organizers, the design is set in stone. Any changes after that require a new design study. That’s exactly why we take the time to review everything in 3D beforehand.

An honest 3D display, not a flattering image

A 3D presentation can promise anything. But a screen knows nothing of gravity, deadlines, or trade show regulations. Ours does.

Because our designers work side by side with our fabricators. Carpentry, printing, structural work, electrical work—we handle every aspect in-house, from the initial idea to the very last screw. Our designs always start with what we know how to build—using our modular aluminum structures and panels—rather than with an effect that’s impossible to replicate.

On the day of the setup, there should be only one surprise: that of your visitors.
